Indigenous Inspirted Art Workshop – Grade 5s

It was a pleasure to invite and host Indigenous community partner, Kathy Morgan at St. Justin Martyr School on Thursday, March 12th.

Students were amazed at her stories and artifacts that she shared; and they were very enthusiastic about their creation of Indigenous Inspirted Dot Art wooden ornaments that they created.

 

World Down Syndrome Day

St. Justin Martyr School staff and students wore Blue and Yellow and Rocked our Mismatched Socks to raise awareness for W.D.S.D – World Down Syndrome Day.

We also participated in a virtual school wide WDSD Liturgy that was led by selected Grade 6 students.

GREEN DAY – March 13th/26

We’re GOING GREEN at SJN

As a means to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) and the end of a successful ShareLife Fundraiser, we will be seen in GREEN!

Staff and students are encouraged to get into the spirit and dress in GREEN.

 

World Down Syndrome Day @ SJN

World Down Syndrome Day at SJN will be acknowledged Thursday, March 12th, 2026. Staff and students are encouraged to wear YELLOW and BLUE and MISMATCHED Socks to raise awareness.

At St. Justin Martyr school we will be having a virtual LITURGY led by Grade 6s students. Let’s ROCK OUR SOCKS SJN!

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Minister of Education placed the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB) under supervision. While under supervision, all decisions that would normally be made by trustees, with the exception of denominational matters, will now be made by the appointed Supervisor, Carrie Kormos.

Updated History Curriculum for the 2026-27 School Year

The Minister of Education has approved updates to the Grades 7, 8, and 10 History curriculum, which will take effect in the 2026-27 school year.
