St. Justin Martyr Students Finish Second in Ontario

Several St. Justin Martyr CES students from Unionville, Ont., made their school proud by finishing second in Ontario at the recent Provincial W5H tournament, a prestigious branch of Reach for the Top, the storied Canadian quiz competition.

Thanks to their remarkable knowledge, teamwork and sportsmanship, these dedicated York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB) students triumphed in all three of their preliminary matches against some of the most talented teams from across the province.

Securing their place at the provincial finals, the St. Justin Martyr team faced St. Mark’s Catholic High School from Ottawa in a closely contested match. Ultimately, these YCDSB elementary school students would finish second in the province, as they showcased their dignity and enthusiasm for learning.

Reflecting on this memorable accomplishment, St. Justin Martyr CES Principal Tracy Stuart said, “I am incredibly proud of our students and deeply grateful for our remarkable staff Ms. Dammar and Ms. Rackett- Campbell, who guided and supported them every step of the way.”

Likewise, the team’s coach, Ms. Dammar, praised these young peoples’ effort, saying, “Our students have shown incredible dedication and teamwork throughout this entire season. Their outstanding performance at the provincial level not only highlights their academic excellence but also exemplifies the values of perseverance, integrity and grace under pressure.”

Congratulations to the entire St. Justin Martyr CES community for making the York Catholic District School Board proud!
