While YCDSB schools engage in bullying awareness and prevention every week of the school year, we recognize this time as a valuable opportunity to raise awareness in parents and the local community. During the week of November 20th through the 24th, 2023, our school will be involved in a variety of learning initiatives that support “Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week” in Ontario. The aim is to promote safe and positive learning environments in schools. We will learn more about bullying and its impact on students’ well-being. In celebration of this time, we are inviting Drums et al to St. Justin, Martyr on Friday, December 1st. Drums et al has been educating, entertaining, and inspiring students and special groups across Ontario. This program uses the African cultural arts of interactive story-telling, dance, and hand drumming to teach and motivate children towards kindness and humanity, not only for social and emotional empowerment but also for psychological development and transformation. We look forward to working together to promote kindness and work towards eradicating bullying within our school and our community.
