Celebrating Black History Month

Every February, we join together in celebrating Black History Month.  Black Canadians and their communities have been a part of shaping Canada’s heritage and identity.  Throughout history, they have done so much to make Canada the culturally diverse, compassionate, and prosperous nation it is today.

The 2021 theme for Black History Month is:  “The Future is Now”.  This theme reflects the chance to celebrate and acknowledge the transformative work that Black Canadians and their communities are doing now.

As a school community, we have a number of wonderful activities taking place in our classrooms.  Also, we have the pleasure of The Canadian Multicultural Inventors Museum hosting dynamic presentations to our FDK – Grade 3 and Grades 4 – 8 classes the week of February 22nd.

Wishing our SJN school community a happy, healthy and blessed month ahead.
