Forty years ago this year, Canadian Hero Terry Fox was forced to end his “Marathon Of Hope” and his dream to run across Canada. Even though Terry has been gone for many decades, hundreds of thousands of Canadians continue to honour his legacy and acknowledge his contribution to Cancer Research. This year, here at St. Justin Martyr CES, our recognition of
his legacy may look a little different than it has in the past, but its impact will be just as significant.
Next week, our classrooms will be participating in a walk around our school playground and field areas, to commemorate Terry Fox’s “Marathon Of Hope” (this will take place at individual times throughout the week, during your child’s physical education class). Throughout the week, students will be involved in a variety of activities that will focus on Terry’s legacy and the impact he continues to make on Canadian Cancer Research.
This year, we will not be accepting donations here at the school, but we have enclosed a link that parents and families can use if they wish to make a contribution electronically, on behalf of our school. Beginning today, you may visit our SJN dedicated fundraising page at:
This link is currently active, and families can begin making donations today on behalf of their children at SJN.
Thank you for helping us to keep Terry’s dream alive and come together as a Catholic Faith Community.
